This will show how sad I am but I kept following the lead thro so Ill pass it on. ( All of the trail is 'allegedly' because I haven't physically checked these details. I was on a Jeep forum ( dont ask why ) when I found out that the Jeep AX5 trasmission has the same bolt pattern on the face of the transmission as the w58 box in the Excel ( Aisin Warner manufactured ). I then found out that a derivative of this transmission is fitted to the Suzuki Vitara v6 2.5 litre, with a tranfer box fitted to the back. ( I'll bet you are wondering where Im going with this ). The Suzuki v6 is a derivative of the Mazda KL-ZE V6, which is fitted to the Mazda Mx6 and the V6 Ford Probe. Therefore, allegedly, the Ford Probe engine can be bolted to a Suzuki V6 bellhousing, which will then bolt up to the Excel gearbox. The V6 Mazda engine is supposed to be bullit proof, and with the cats missing and a free flowing exhaust and air filter, is said to produce another 20hp over the standard output of 170hp. So...a fuel efficeint, smooth, bullit proof, modern v6, might, allegedly, be a simple bolt in job. Although I would want a full MX6/probe car for the electronics.
Before I get any flack....Im not going to do this...and... if anybody else wants to do this to THIER car....good luck !
You heard it here first
Bash ( saddo )
