When I got the car last March the air intake pipe was hanging on by a thread. Well that thread finally broke

SJ price list £19.50 per mitre  Is there an alternative solution :?:
How about cut the pipe short and have the air intake on the other side of the car :?:

You could try somewhere like Car Builder Solutions (if you don't mind a blue replacement!). If you shorten the intake you need to relocate the wire support bracket to hold the hose up and away from the fans etcetera.

Think the pipe needs to be behind the fan to suck in cool air for better breathing for the engine. Is it worth giving Mike Taylor a call for the hose?

Phil, did you figure out the dimensions of the replacement hose that you bought, or does anyone else know roughly what the internal diameter and overall length are please? Mine's falling apart and I know that Phil managed to find the correct size replacement at one of the Donington stalls. Mine's so squished it isn't easy to guess the correct dimensions!

These pipes are used many places and come in many diameters.
I replaced mine with a left over from my boat heating project.

Try to contact a company, that install Eberspacher or Webasto units.
You can bring along the inlet tube for perfect fitting - and a sixpack as payment.

I would recommend to place the inlet not directly behind the radiator as cold air has a higher density = more O2 = more vitamines for the performance.

Btw. Matra Murena 2,2 has a thermocontrolled valve, that uses heated inlet air next to the exhaust in the cold running period for quicker engine heating. Just for inspiration.

[quote="chrisw2811"]Phil, did you figure out the dimensions of the replacement hose that you bought?

Just popped out between the rain showers - the internal dia is 3 1/2 inch or about 9 cm
