Speedo Cable (VDO)
Looking for a speedo cable (or a supplier of one). I’ve seen them on SJS but fairly pricey!

Re: headlights pop up when key is removed!!!!!
Thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated. Embarrassed to admit it but it turned out to be a corroded fuse terminal, I am usually telling everyone that they cant be trusted if if you pull them and check and check for continuity but you have to check the connection is ok as well. Fuse was good a...

Re: headlights pop up when key is removed!!!!!
Does your car have a dim dip module? Things that cause pods to rise and stay up: 1) headlamps on 2) sidelight on signal being sent to dim-dip module - or faulty dim-dip module. 3) column switch in valet position and lights flashed Something must be generating a signal to start the lift process. My ...

Re: headlights pop up when key is removed!!!!!
OK - first step has to be a check that all relays are the correct type. Not all of them are changeover, some are double circuit (1 in, 2 out), single throw. Also check that they're free of corrosion and water. Then you're into looking carefully at earth points before starting to think about shorts ...

Re: headlights pop up when key is removed!!!!!
Yeah, should have made that clear. When the key is in the off position (ie when you press the black key release button and then turn the key the final turn to remove)amarshall wrote:Is it really when you take the key out, or is it when you turn the key to the off position?

headlights pop up when key is removed!!!!!
My brain is now frazzled and reaching out to you guys to see if anyone has had a similar experience! I have a 87 SE and when I take the key out, the headlights pop up (just pods, no lights). They can pop up straight away or anywhere up to 30 seconds later. I've replaced a few of relays (inc. headlam...

electric windows not sliding freely
With the window lift channel removed I would have thought the windows would slide up and down the runners without any interference but they dont! Both sides appear to stick about half way, subsequently when I attach the motor it doesnt really have the puff to get past the sticky point all the time a...

Re: New Carpets
I emailed Coverdale about the same issue and got a reply straight away. They were very helpful, explained that the set for the excel was designed upon a customers old carpet set. I am going to send them my original pieces for the foot wells and they are happy to sort it out. I will take a photo shor...

Re: indicators and full beam
Thanks everyone for your help, turns out it was two seperate issues.
Knackered relay for the full beam and the indicator stalk is playing up.
Going to get the stalk of today and see if it's repairable

Re: indicators and full beam
That may turn out to be a nightmare, it looks like someone has previously tried to take off the steering boss and taken chunks out of the bottom of it!

indicators and full beam
After replacing the dashboard it appears that my indicators have stopped working and also my full beam. Hazards work okay and other lights/pop up work, so not sure if it is relay or column stalk or something else? Checked all around for loose wires but all seem good. If anyone has any ideas I would ...
