Re: Toyota key... original?

I had a new key made from what I believe was the non original key which was heavily worn. The new blank was for a Mitsubishi. I then grinded the tumblers in the glove box to that key and now my single key opens all door locks, glove box, fuel door, and ignition. Ahhhhh. It's the little things.

Re: Two more - Updated- Now four more!

Does anyone have a copy of the 16 Valve Showdown article they could send me? The links to all of these articales are broken now, but that 16 Valve Showdown is of significant interest to me at the moment. It compared an excel and Porsche 944 against each other.
Thanks for any assistance

Re: Fluttering Fuel and Coolant Temperatute guages

My otter switch makes my fan relay chatter when it hits the temperature at which the fans kick on -not sure why exactly and don't fully understand the inner workings of an otter switch. But, when my engine is right in that 'sweet spot' of just getting too warm but the radiator is easily able to keep...

Re: New Owner issues, questions

Have you tried disconnecting the Rev Limiter? The second I did this, my engine came to a whole new level of alive-ness. I have since installed a new adjustable limiter, which I put in the glove box, By turning it down to zero it's a sneaky little anti-theft that no one would ever figure out on top o...

Re: Speedo VDO question

As much as I like OEM... I replaced my VDO with one from an Esprit. Gained me an Extra 10 mph!!! (reads 170 vs 160). It too wasn't quite right for ratio and is also failing in the same manner as the previous one only 5-10K later. Thus, I'm going GPS with a clean retro look next go round. I have my p...

Re: Gearbox Rebuild?

Following, my girl is jumping out of 1st as well. If I hold it in gear it's fine, if I don't it's sketchy moreso when pointed downhill or on the flat. Pointed uphill it usually holds fine. Going to go after the fluid first as suggested above.

Re: Dash illumination filters

Swapped mine all out for LED bulbs, no longer need to worry about them burning out, getting hot, or adding significant load to the electrical system. You can even make each gauge a different color if you wanted. My Speedo is white, the rest red to draw my eye to the speedo first - which is now no lo...

Re: Factory fit alarm?

hijacking the thread, Red Baron, I actually got my hands on the sigma programmer. curious interface that pulses light to communicate with the brain. I wanted to reprogram the number pad with it since I don't know the code, but it doesn't seem to be able too! smh. I can program new fobs though if nee...

Re: Factory fit alarm?

Mine (91) has a Sigma system, very similar to that fitted to Subarus. The brain for mine is in the drivers kick so you might want to start looking there. the siren was mounted in the engine bay when it was connected, doesn't work now. The immobilizer portion still works and acts as a keyless entry t...

2) I repaired my purge pump as well, it since quit again (cheap eBay remote control module I rigged up) It's really not worth repairing, like the others said, stomp the gas it'll start with a few cranks when the engine is hot and been sitting a bit. 3) Yeah, my 91 is touchy there as well around 2k r...

Looks like it matches the one on mine. I believe that is the Rev limiter next to the AB 14? Correct? https://mj0xpg.bn.files.1drv.com/y4mWUGCyJHirp7Wxv5-_osQfW0aZaraxndytbz0-kGxBNkbLlwOt_QVfkfw0lrVH7Q47ef9P9_ENVF2Ie-lJvZNttKxuRUmKEqgHSQc0p7oB_-UqzRWxcYLVTmQhDwEaiKV2vbrWoZ-_qNv5vGIyARxYOEdQLBn_9I2Quf...
