Re: What do people think of your Excel

I've only had positive comments so far.

My favourite response to it is when I'm closing in on people in their rear view mirror. I've never owned a road car that can part traffic on a motorway or dual carriageway like my red Excel. Excellent :D

Re: Slipped Cam Belt

Having the cam timing off by one tooth isn't enough to put the valves at risk. It's certainly not good, and it's clearly a sign that something else is wrong, like inadequate tension. Re: Hello from a new Excel owner

nice to see it out and about. How good is your heater? mines rubbish! It was brilliant with the 84 degree stat but its pants now I've fitted the 74 degree stat and fan switch. I just cable tied a bit of Twintex on the mesh over the plenum to restrict the volume of cold air being drawn into the heat...

Re: Hello from a new Excel owner

Well, its a small world. I left Coalville in 2001, been backs lots, you wouldn't recognise the place now. its ruined. still feels like home tho. I can't agree more. I'm Coalville born & bred and love my town but it really should be called Doleville now. If you want to see fat people wearing Coalvil...

Re: Hello from a new Excel owner

Thanks for the warm welcome guys. I've put about 300 miles on the Excel since it's MOT on Friday including a family trip to the British Motor Museum at Gaydon and a trip to Lotusbits which finished off with the propshaft wearing a hole in a saggy (plastic) fuel line. We made it home though (with poo...

Hello from a new Excel owner

I thought it was about time I popped my head over the parapet and said hello. My best friend's dad owned an Excel and I'd fancied one for years. It is probably one of the best original SEs in the country and was recently sold. Sadly it was out of budget for me so the search for something else had to...
