Re: Wiper Motor
There is no compatibillty between 14W and 29W.
The Jag 29W needs modifying to fit - the body is designed for a RH park. Trying to modify the sweep angle is a real faff.
The beauty of this way is you have a much more powerfull motor that should las years and not give up if it gets hot and bothered!

Wiper Motor
Yup. The curse of the Lucas wiper motor. So I decided to do something about the reluctant to start wiper motor in the V8 Excel. Having removed it I found that it is a 29W. Unlike the usual 14W motor fitted to most british things of the 60/70/80's. There is just about F all available for the 29W apar...
Re: Preload
I would say using a high quality torque wrench would be the answer, like I did on mine with no further tightening needed.

Excel V8
Time for my Excel to go. It has a Lexus V8, fully managed with an Emerald ecu and throttle bodies. Lightweight billet flywheel, exedy clutch. Servoed clutch for a very light action. Alloy radiator. About 270bhp. Very torquey - loads more power possible with cams etc. Spax shox all round. Hispec cali...

Re: Squeaking Polybushes
Did you lube the bushes? Also, check to see if they have moved causing the washers or arms to make metal to metal contact. As a last resort, attach wife to underneath of car and get her to listen. Two problems with that. Getting the wife to listen. Possible damage to car driving over bumps. Solved b...

Re: Value your Excel if you dare!
My Excel is probably difficult to value, but here goes. Main thing is the Lexus engine conversion on throttle bodies. Alloy radiator, New Pax shox all round. Most suspension polybushed. Upgraded Hispec front brakes. Retrimmed leather interior. Very light servoed clutch (dodgy left ankle...) Needs pa...

My V8 (Lexus) Excel will be for sale soon. Has re trimmed interior as well. It needs painting - but could be sold with or without that done.
