I will not be able to make a meeting this week. Please feel free to go ahead without me, or we can delay until Wednesday next week.

Cheers, Richard
I don’t mind either way. If there is anything to discuss about NEC, might be worth postponing until you’re available?

Re: Passenger Window, Front Caliper

Calliper - for basic check no need to remove wheel, just jack up and spin the wheel - should spin relatively freely, if it doesn’t probably sticking calliper. You can also compare to the other side. Also after a drive feel how hot the wheel is and compare to the others. A hot wheel would also sugges...

Re: excel fuel gauge

There is a factory fitted anti slosh relay fitted - near the tank I believe. These do go faulty so you loose the damping. I don’t think these are still available, but the spiyda one will work, also allows you to calibrate your fuel gauge. My car has one of the early versions of this fitted. https://...

Re: Roaming windscreen wiper!

Looking at the picture in the parts manual will make it clear, but the nut holding the arm on does only that. If you look there is another larger flat chromed nut that holds the spindle into the bulk head.

Re: Restauration result of a Lotus Excel SE

Looks very nice. Interested in what maps you’re running in the 123 as I also have one of these. It was on the car when I bought it, but the vacuum advance map was way off and there was an issue with the thermal control valve so had little power bellow 3000 rpm. Is yours the Bluetooth version? If so ...

Re: which brake fluid

Go for the latest spec - has a higher boiling point and if you’re fully flushing through there won’t be enough of the old fluid in there to lower it, especially as I believe you’ve stripped the callipers. I use either Febi dot 4 plus - equivalent boiling point to 5.1 or 5.1 depending on what’s avail...

But I would suggest replacing the damping rubber blocks. These tend to compress and become harder over time. Eg - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Weber-40-45- ... 635-2958-0

Re: Reinforcing fixing points for door cards

Thanks for all suggestions and experiences. I’ve decided to go for the stainless option. I’ve ordered some 1.5 mm stainless plate. I will use pieces and shape as the fixing points are close to angles and bind these in with fibreglass. Then when rebuilding the door I will drill some pilot holes to ma...
