Re: Excel Interior Update

I repaired a rip in mine using Furniture Clinic filler. see link below
Phil, I see you did that 3 years ago. How's it standing up to wear and tear?

As it happens I placed a quite large order with FC just yesterday, Swatch sent for colour matching though, so will be awhile before the stuff arrives.

Re: Excel Interior Update

was wondering if it would look better coloured black to match the rest of the dash? A bit like this Richard? https://www.dropbox.com/s/mc7m3hfbj5nh95g/210120.jpg?raw=1 Another bit of "work in progress", Its a black wood, on a new MDF back board. It's not as black in the photo as it looks in real li...

Re: Excel Interior Update

Just one more winter project for the inside to go. - Materials obtained Just need to work out how to do it. Been holding back on posting anything about this little winter project until I was confident I could avoid it looking like a dogs dinner - After it had been eaten.... I never did like the cen...

Re: LEAKS - Explain this if you can!!!!

Seems I still have a problem: https://www.dropbox.com/s/unyuyia12snikj4/210119a.jpg?raw=1 You can just about make out the edge of the puddle (dark red). There was no real evidence about where the water runs in from. Definitely not via the centre tunnel, but feeling inside the rear quarter trim ( jus...

Re: Channel Island Elite For Sale.

Advert says it had a new "lotus supplied" chassis back in 1990 when restored. Inference is its not done many miles since and currently owned as part of a collection, so good chance its been predominantly dry use / stored. By 1990, I'm sure lotus would have only supplied a galvanised chassis as repla...

Re: Channel Island Elite For Sale.

Trevor, I thought the same on the Renault comment. Someone who's knows a little about Europa's, but nothing about the later cars. I suspect if you actually saw it, it's a bit ropey around the edges, but could well be a good canvass for improvement. Strange looking Lotus badge on the driver seat whic...

Re: New member - Excel SA

From a purely logical point of view, I'd agree with your interpretation it should make no difference. Given a choice, I'd pump water in from the bottom, that way you're pushing against gravity, but can't immediately see any problems with pumping it "down hill", especially if the whole of the rad is ...

Re: Cam Carrier leak.

. Early 907 engines used a gasket but later changed
I think that's correct. I read this post thinking "sure mines got a gasket".
Obvious to point out, but if adding gasket to engine previously set up without, all valve shims will need changing to thicker ones.

Re: Happy new year

Happy New Year to all. What a year to choose to get back into Lotusing proper. Very much looking forward to meeting many of you at events when they're allowed to restart. Personally, I've resisted Faceplant or what ever it's called. Far prefer forums and definitely favour this one over TLF. Don't mi...
