Re: Wiring diagrams for early Excels

Andy is still around, or at least he was at the time of the recent NEC show.
I'll ask the contact I got from Classic Team Lotus. I owe him an email anyway about the rocking horse items. I'll phrase it around Richards logical arguement.

Re: Leather Colouring

Furniture Clinic will match to a sample you sent them.
Numerous places on the back of panels you can trim a small piece off. They don't need much.

Re: Excel SE Rear Shock Absorbers for sale

That test doesn't tell you they are the same rate. I'm happy my test did confirm they are the same rate, but my description wasn't very clear. I laid the 2 springs end to end on an open jawed Workmate ( Just stopped them rolling away :) ) . Total length now about 26". I then passed a long M12 threa...

Re: Excel SE Rear Shock Absorbers for sale

The Protechs were much better, manly due to the fact that they can be adjusted to suit. Thanks Martin. Food for thought. I removed both side shock and springs over the weekend, mainly to decide if I should invest in new springs at the same time. I had two issues - very harsh ride with 'clunks' quit...

Re: Wiper motor...again!

SJ sportcars stock them. I had one a couple of years ago. It's been fine since.
The old one was in a right state. Rust around the spindle made it very tight and clearly had been the cause of water getting inside the car for a good while.

Re: Wiper motor...again!

When I fitted the new cable I made sure I rotated the spindle cog 180 degrees so it presented fresh gear teeth to the cable. Only 3 components so full removal will soon find the issue I'm sure. Good plan to turn the wheel box, but only worked if PO has not already played that card 😉. My monies on y...

Re: Lotus in the Peak 2024

Looking forward to meeting some more Wedge Owners (on the road and maybe in the bar later)
Welcome Al. One or two of you? Sure you'll enjoy. Several of us are in on the BBQ and a pint once the drivings done always goes down well.

Looks like a good turn out.

Re: Lotus in the Peak 2024

Clare would like : Focaccia Bread followed by Pan Fried Salmon - no sweet.

Tony would like : Potato Skins - cheesy bacon with BBQ followed by Steak &Ale pie, mash and veg please, no sweet.

Thanks for sorting Phil

Re: Excel SE Rear Shock Absorbers for sale

Bought from Lotusbits around May21. I fitted these but didn't like them (too soft for me) so I've bought some Protech adjustables.
How were the SJ Protechs by comparison Sirclip?

I'm not happy with rear of my car and thinking about the adjustable Protect and new springs from SJ.

Re: 123

I've found another unit similar to the 123. CSI Ignition, also a Netherlands outfit. Same 3 options of a unit with 16 pre programmed curves, a laptop connected and a Bluetooth version. Unfortunately in the same price range though.😠. Pretty sure the company has been born from defectors from 123. It's...

Re: Club Lotus Track Day, Castle Combe 25th May

I'll be along in the Excel. Provided cars still happy to play ball. 😀.

Only planning to do the lunch time lap, but we are still hoping we might be able to arrange a short session with just wedges on the track to celebrate to 50 years of the Elite release.

More wedges the better.

Re: 123

Been giving these a bit of thought. With strobe connected, I get occasional dancing of the timed position. Steady enough to set the 'nominal' but then I get occasional flashes much nearer TDC. Thinking that with 150k miles, that's around 150 million turns of the dizzy. Not too surprising if things a...

Re: Lotus Drivers' Club meet at Weedon

I believe this is a regular last Saturday of the month event 4:00 pm.
I'll be giving the car a run out later today. Liked the venue when I went late last year.
