I can't remember if the captive nuts are on the door hinge strengthening plates or on the little Z-shaped brackets. It's many years since I removed one

Mission creep - don't you just love it! :lol: While the dash is out it's a perfect opportunity to do it. Taking the heater assembly out may not be a bad thing - a lot of the foam on the flaps inside often falls off too reducing it's efficiency. You may need a second pair of hands - the two lower bol...

ISTR that they just pass straight into the space behind where they are situated. The two steel plates that support the relays etc. may need to come off. You may just be able to reach up and get a socket on - they will probably snap anyway!

Welcome to the forum! I've not dismantled one of those clocks yet but I've yet to reassemble the dash on my Elite restoration so it might be something I have to do in the future. Good luck on getting it working again.
