Thanks. The universal one definitely didn't fit very well.

She just failed the MOT due to a split rack fairer. Got a universal one fitted to pass but it isn't really long enough. Can anyone confirm that it is a standard Sierra rack gaiter and not a different one due to the different track rods?

I don't think there would be enough room for the extra width required. It isn't actually too hard to get at so a flat / square / blind nut should be fine. Will see what I can find in Halfords tonight.

It can't have been rivets as I would remember the pain of drilling them out. I will get some blind/flat nuts and screw back in.

When I did it, I prised open the clamp a little on the UJ with a pry bar and then removed the 2 upper column bolts from under the dash and then gave it a tug. From memory there are 2 big square nuts, one of which can definitely fall down.

Recon radiator back in but I cannot remember what held the fan shroud to to the radiator - and whatever it was I have misplaced them. Any help appreciated so I can get the right bits or it will be stainless bolts.

I finally got around to taking the radiator out. Easier than expected. Popped into Boston to drop it off as it is close to work and it seems Boston Radiators is now a gym.... It seems that there is now a Lincoln Radiators opened so I will drop it off there this weekend and see how good their service...

Doesn't the spring keep the release bearing in contact with the clutch cover fingers all the time, or have I got it the wrong way round in my head (easy these days!)? Pete It does. I replaced mine and it is the same part number as the throttle return spring on the carbs if I remember correctly (got it from SJ sportscars).
