It also surprised me that Excels are least represented of the 3 models, both by known numbers and % on the road. !! Look at that trend! It could be explained by how many...

Re: Rear brake dust shields
The outer part which forms the disc dust shield is thinner gauge steel and spot welded to the, heavier, inner plate which carries the handbrake mechanism.
It is possible to trim away the outer part in situ as you suggested.

Thought the forum was broken!
For a couple of weeks I just saw the bones of a webpage structure and even a "bandwidth exceeded" message when I loaded my browser. Browser was set to load https://www.lotusexcel.net/phpbb/ for about the last 5 years Then I manually typed the address without any /phpbb and found the new look forum. ...

Engine mounts
Has anyone got details of where the engine and gearbox mounts originate from?
Googling the numbers moulded into the somewhat perished rubber seems to indicate Toyota origins. Possibly Hilux, Hiace or Celica?

Re: Diff leaks
Thanks for the replies; Looking at the diff installation it seemed like there would be a fair chance if its only output seals once I investigate a bit more. Wikepedia lists 2nd generation Celica Supra as; MA61, MA63, MA67, GA61. Any idea if they all had the same final drive unit to help with the int...

Diff leaks
Can anybody advise if it's possible to replace the shaft seals on the diff in situ? I need to clean off and track down further but it seems to be mainly the near side output seal which is the source of the wetness. There seems to be a little end float in the driveshaft flanges but no discernable rad...
