Re: Gauge Lighting

I’ve just trialled fitting LEDs to a spare Heater Control box, shown below. My 1st attempt replacing the original 3 filament bulbs with LED bulbs improved the amount of light but it was not even across all the graphics. After finding and repainting a spare panel I looked at using LEDs on a roll whic...

Re: Headlining

This is the visor frame underneath showing wiring and light. The electric supply and return is through the fixing brackets. The inner roof brackets have a metal clip inside which makes the circuit. I used layers of floor laminate foam underlay bonded with contact adhesive to build up the visor body....

Re: Headlining

Pete,

I thought they were original.

Just checking the wiring diagram for the Eclat series 2.2 and it shows wiring to a sun visor light so must be.

Not sure why pic wouldn't show, followed the instructions someone posted Image , glad the link at least worked.

Re: Alternator type and service

I overhauled my 1981 Eclat’s Motorola alternator last year as bearings failed. I bought new SKF bearings off eBay from ‘4bearings’, and a replacement slip ring. Got the sizes after dismantling. Found this info from then: Alternator parts, Valeo (SE) type unit Front Bearing 6203-2RS from Hayley Rear ...

Getrag Gearstick Bushes and Oil Recommendations

Has anyone with the Getrag gearbox ever changed the bushes at the bottom of the gearstick. My gearstick seems very indirect. Is it an easy job out the top of the tunnel or does the gearbox need to come out ? Any pictures or diagrams of this area would be useful. Also can anyone recommend a gearbox o...

Re: Old Paint Problems

Thanks for the replies. Sprayed on some etch primer today and noticed lots of micro / pin prick size holes where the paint had blistered.

The paint is also very brittle and easily chipped.

Put on some stopper, rubbed down, reprimed and it was looking better.

Old Paint Problems

Can anyone tell me what the cause of the paint problem I have. When I bought it 2 years ago it had only a couple of paint blemishes that I took to be ‘Fisheye’. The front and rear are now completely covered in 1-2 mm spots where the edges are lifting away from the surface. In places the paint has fl...

Eclat 2.2 and Elite 2.2 centre console badges

I’m looking at getting some copies of the original badges fitted on the centre console just below the clock for the Eclat 2.2 and Elite 2.2. These would be in the original overlapping Lotus outline typeface. I think the cost should be in the region of £15 each. Please let me know if interested Graham
