Lahi, with the water pump off check the block casting for burrs, you can easily improve water flow with a bit of streamlining. Burrs were typical on the Elite engine. The Elite alternator is about 60A, but I've changed the pulleys on my engine to poly-v belt and I've fitted a 165A alternator from a Mini - should be enough!

It's a 2.5 litre (stroked crank) but will have a max rpm of 6k (ZF auto gearbox) so mainly aiming for torque.
