Re: Grand Tourers Register

Hi Tony There were a couple of Elites on ebay with the same vendor near me (Farnham) & I went & had a look at the weekend. I was interested in a red 503, which seemed to be all there, although a few bits had been removed from the car. All the ali trim was in fair condition: NVV 849P. I took a pictur...

Re: Valvoline VR1 20W50 - £29.99

Thanks for the tip, Bryan. I bought 20L, to qualify for free delivery, so that should keep me going for a few years. That's if I can find it when I need it. I bought 4L of wet lube for my mountain bikes two years ago (a life time's supply) & I've lost it; I've had to buy more.

Thanks for posting. That looks like a great solution. Hopefully, I'll remember this when I eventually get onto tackling my doors.

Re: Anti Roll Bar bushes..

I still think the split should face the back of the car, because I think the ARB will be pushing against the front section of the bush under braking, although the more I think about it, the less certain I am. I had a look around the internet. I couldn't find any instructions from anyone that left me...

Re: Anti Roll Bar bushes..

My logic says the split should be to the front of the car. Would I be right ? I'm two months late with this, but that doesn't sound right to me. I'm agreeing with Hawaiiso, who explains why the split should face the back of the car (if your choice is front or back). It's because under braking, the ...

Re: Grand Tourers Register

I'll answer my own question: Yes you have. I've just realised I told you about this same car when it was advertised on ebay six months ago.

Let's hope it gets sold & recommissioned/restored this time.

Thanks for explaining all that, Richard.

Your stethoscope picture made me laugh.

Have you fixed all your leaks now, or is this still WIP?

Elite interior with lighter coloured wooden panels

There's an Elite that's just come up for sale with very nice looking interior - probably the best I've seen on an Elite. The dark panels have been replaced with a polished wood that's a little lighter than the veneers that were used in Excels. For anyone that's interested, have a look before the ad ...

Spotted: Yellow Eclat in Today's Times newspaper

There's a big picture of a yellow Eclat + Arthur Daly & Terry McCann on p36 of today's Times. I Googled the reg. & the car features in Series 1 Episode 6 of Minder.

That sounds like MUK 990 P. It was for sale in December 2022. I was told, "It's been in an accident. The chassis is no good & the body is split along the seam."

I enjoyed your latest episode, Mike. It's proper slow TV, to rival Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing.

I've just sent you an email about the tyres.

Re: NEC Classic Motor Show 2023 Friday 10 - Sunday 12 November 2023

I'm looking forward to hearing about the show & seeing some pictures.

I've been horribly busy recently so I didn't get myself a ticket. I hope to make it to next year's show.
