Re: Color Sanding Paint Correction and Polish
Update 11-12-2024 The entire car's paint has been corrected and wet sanded, and the buffing has begun. Everything from the windshield back has been buffed twice, with the front left to do. Next will come the polishing followed by a full ceramic coating. The 3rd brake light has been added to the rear...

Color Sanding Paint Correction and Polish
The Excel work continues. The waist trim, rear spoiler, antenna and A-pillar trim have all been removed. The car is in for a full color wet-sand paint correction and polish. Hope to get some good pictures and try again to post the pictures.

Push Button Start Switch
Has anyone thought about changing the start switch to a push button switch. The way the key goes in is so awkward, especially with my big hands.

Light Bulb numbers
I am away from my car, and need the bulb numbers for the front turn signals, parking lights, and rear parking light, brake light, and reverse lights. Could someone please post them here for me in the next day or so. Thanks.

Re: 123 ignition help
Hi Alan. Mine is the USB version according to Ron Tettero at Albertronic.
So if I understand correctly, I can remove the amplifier and disconnect the wires - correct?

Re: Refinishing the Wood Dash
Ok...so I have finished the prep on the pieces, sanded them, and rolled the edges of the openings like the original. Next up will be painting the inside rolled edges brown like the originals. Due to a busy schedule, they will have to sit that way for a while. Hope to get some pictures posted soon.

Re: Rebuilding the Seat Bottom
Interesting - what did he do about the rubber diaphragm on the bottom that supports the foam? These appear to be unavailable new, can't find any good used ones, and I've not been able to find anything similar from any other car that comes close to fitting. He used the material I was talking about a...

My electric flowlock valve is downstream, after the pump and filter.dancroft1984 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 15:26Don't you have an electric flowlock valve between the tank and the pump? I have in my early '85. Though I agree a manual one wouldn't hurt.

Re: Rebuilding the Seat Bottom
I picked up the repaired seats last week, and I have to say the new support of the bottom cushions is excellent. He was able to repair the driver's side split in the foam, rebuild the top with a new layer, and rebuild the seat bottom support. The material that they used is very strong, and was both ...

Re: Refinishing the Wood Dash
The new veneers have been glued to the underlying wood pieces. I used several pieces of the veneer to test different stains, and have decided to not stain them, as - in my opinion - the existing burl in the veneers is very nice looking, and all the stained samples masked the beauty of the veneer.

Re: Fuel Pipe Replacement
I ordered this pump and all the extra bits and new filter. I am also going to put in a manual cut-off in the fuel line just after the line exits the tank - that way if I ever need to do anything fuel related, I can shut off the flow from the tank to the pump. With the factory set up, the shut off is...

Refinishing the Wood Dash
I noticed that my interior wood trim is not what it should be. The main dash piece is in good condition, but the middle wood looks like a child sprayed the finish on it. I have looked at options, and have decided to refinish both pieces. This weekend I stripped off the existing finish and veneer usi...
