Re: 1985 2.2LC

Would my car have come with points or electronic ignition. I've phoned a couple of places and getting conflicting information. Apparently mine shouldn't have he vacuum advance fitted but has. So presumably nas been replaced at some point.

1985 2.2LC

Hi Can anyone tell me what distributor should be fitted to my car. The one on it has a vacuum unit but apparently LCs shouldn't have a vacuum unit. It's not running great. I spent last year working on bigger issues which are mostly solved. Its a bit difficult to start, doesn't idle great and is defi...

Re: Breather pipe routing.

Thanks. That's brilliant.

I have about an inch of pipe going from that were valve and random other bits. So the smell is just filling the boot

Breather pipe routing.

My boot stinks of fuel. Just discovered today that the breather pipe missing.

Can anyone tell me how it's routed out the car. I can't see any holes in the bumper.

Don't know if it matters but it's a 1985 LC.

Thanks

Re: Strong fuel smell.

Not sure if it's a different setup on an early 1985 car but I don't have that. Just the breather up the top of the filler pipe that goes to the top of the tank. Wish I'd bought a later car now!

Is there any way to get photos in from Google photos? Or from my phone? I don't use one drive.

Thanks

Re: Strong fuel smell.

Looking at mine now. I have a breather that comes out the top of the tank out the petrol cap. I can't see any other breather pipes.

Mine is Feb 1985. So an LC. I can't see any others

Re: Strong fuel smell.

I didn't know fuel tanks were repairable. I thought when damaged they should be binned. Once I get it out I'll try get it pressure tested or something.

Are they available new? I couldn't find any online. But i might not be looking in the right place.

Re: 1992 Excel SE - How far is too far?

I went to look at that car. I couldn't get to drive it and the guy didn't even want me to run it. I noticed the fan issue and said can I check it doesn't overheat. He said no! . I found him a challenge 🤣. So I just left it. Your paint looks great but when I saw it it looked flat. I ended up buying s...

Re: Power steering fluid leak

The mechanic said front crank seal I think but also definitely cam covers. There's a lot of oil about the timing belt too. Which needs sorted asap.
