Disconnection of fuel pipe to Excel DHLA 45 carbs

Hi - can anyone assist with the disconnection of the fuel pipes to the Dellorto carbs on a 1992 Excel. The brass unions can be undone from the carb bodies but as this twists the pipes and puts them under stress, there must be another solution. Ive put a spanner onto the alloy bolt which is on the en...

leaking fuel

I know I have been totally remiss but I wanted to try and start my 1992 Excel today for the first time in about 4 years - having turned the key to the first position the fuel pump started clicking and then continued for a few seconds before I turned it off. I turned it on again and the same thing ha...

Door sticking

Not for the first time, during hot weather my drivers door becomes stuck - when the temperature drops the door operates again - but in the mean time the central locking malfunctions and even when pushed from inside it does not always open. Only once ( some years ago) has this happened when I was ins...

Re: Boot lid

Hi - following the hot weather today I noticed that the nearside edge of the boot lid next to the hinge and rear window glass had lifted - when examined it can be seen that the top layer has pulled away from the lower section and support framing. It goes back down but seems to be spingy and when glu...

Radiator fan relay

Over recent times when the radiator fans come on, there is a mechanical noise ( its a grating type of sound) inside the car and it sounds like it is coming from the relay ( to the right of the steering wheel). Has anyone else experienced this. I guess the relay needs replacing any ideas of a supplie...
