Re: Anyone know this Elite?

Looks very appealing (wheels marginal). Even the bulge has been done well (for a bulge) in contrasting black. Interior is to die-for. I'd like to look into the apparent chassis damage at the front mind you. Looks like someone has jacked it at the front crossmember - it's dented and possibly bent/war...

Re: Excel Front Brakes

That reminds me, as I have replied to the sellers saying they are the wrong pads, they have asked for my registration to try an wriggle out of it when they find my car is a SE not an SA as in the ebay listing.. so can I 'borrow' an SA registration? You don't need an SA reg. SE and SA pads are the s...

Re: I'm leaking voltage

Section MH page 12 shows the 1989 MY earth route. Battery earth to chassis is ahead or the rear crossmember on the right. then ... Front Chassis arm to Engine earth strap. then .. Engine earth strap to block. then ... Block to Pedalbox - which is the source of main harness earths, including the fuse...

Re: 9XX Ethanol - E85 tuning or EFI E85 flex fuel conversion

I ask this question because in the usa e85 is allowed to vary between 55 and 85 percent ethanol, so how is huge variation safely catered for by the management. If this is the same in europe I dont see how a carb setup could cater for it because bigger jets would be needed to make it work with e85, ...

Both. Tapped out M8, then a bit of stud lock - and wind in TIGHT.
Only needs to hold whilst fitting. When removing, you're actually trying to wind the bolt even further into the plate.

Thought so. Good solution. They look to be SS too. 8)

Re: moving on

Tony, re: T bolts have you stuck the bolt head to the plate, or threaded the plate, or both?

Re: Replaced Headlining

Fabulous result, especially the stretch areas which clearly show the contours of the trim panels to great effect. 8) I've been trying to get someone to do mine in leather which should also have some stretch properties in the right hands. But so far, the folk I've contacted are either too busy (if th...

Re: Ramps or posts

That's the same ramp as mine Tony! I would have given up working on cars if I didn't have mine (getting old). Are they more than £2k now? So you got rid of the TVR that I last saw you in on my road (Cerbera?). Was it the engine or outriggers? Must admit I like the Tasmin better. More wedge for your ...

Re: Ramps or posts

Yours looks very similar to the one I had installed a few days ago Peter. Can't work out how to attach the photo. (Can anyone advise please.) There are a few of the TVR guys who have used a 4 post to do a body off job. Disconnect all bolts etc Raise entire car, Support body with cross timbers or st...

Also worth checking the pipe between the two halves of the coolant tank isn’t blocked.
Ive had that too. Begger to clear! Needs something stiff and thin to get around the bend. :)

Re: First job jobbed - 2 more found !!!

Good thinking. Another issue to add to the list of causes for flat spots. 8) Re: fuel pump faiure. When my fuel pump slowly died I had intermittant fuel stavation but there was no ever-present flat spot as such. It was more a case that the engine died completely, apparently at random, then recovered...

Re: Vacuum take off pipes on carbs

That is an excellent diagram to see, as the system on my car is all apart! Yeah Bryan on here did the original diagram in order to get an overview of the system and I added the functional notes taken directly from the textual notes within the Service Notes (no charts in SN). I've also producd a col...

Re: Ramps or posts

 Second thoughts .. you could use a 4 post to LOWER the chassis from the body once chassis is unbolted with the ramp raised and the body attached to the ceiling with straps hooked into the wheelarches (suitably protected). :D
