Just a thought a while ago I had a problem with lost coolant at speed it turned out to be a tiny hole in the pipe between the thermostat and the inlet manifold difficult to find because it was at the bottom. found it by pressurising the system with air.

lucas 3m100 starter motor brush sets
Hi does anyone know a source of brushes for the above starter motor? The ones I have seen on the internet show the bolt type fitting as the Land Rover fitting and I can't see any of the fork type fitting that my starter has can anyone help?

Re: Bottom balljoint
Hi Mike When I did mine I bought a ball joint press off of ebay ( like a giant G Clamp) It came with a selection of press tools of various sizes I had to modify the correct size with a grinder so that it fitted snugly in the wishbone, but it shifted without too much trouble with a 2ft growler bar. H...

Re: Lower Ball Joint
Hi Its much easier to do off the car, I have a press which looks like a big G clamp used with some tube type mandrills I had to grind the edges of the tube so that it avoided the bracing which ajoins the ball joint. It needs plenty of persuassion to get the ball joint out.

Re: Timing Marks Wrongly Aligned
When I first got my car it immediately stripped the belt and bent some valves and I just removed the head by jacking on one side it was a bit of a fiddle getting it past the AC pipe but not difficult remember don't rotate the engine with the head off unless you fit liner retainers

Hi Mark When I replaced mine the wishbones were on the car so I bought a tool from ebay rather like a large heavy duty g clamp with many different sized rings, If the wishbone is off the car and you have use of a press you need to find a spacer ring of a diameter larger than the ball joint to allow ...
