Re: Parts In Motion - buyer beware!
Yeah, it amazes me why they would lose a customer and tarnish a reputation over the minor cost of rectifying their error. What really amuses me is when they tell me they are sorry they can't help and if I need any further assistance to contact them. The only thing stopping them from helping me is th...

Parts In Motion - buyer beware!
In mid December I ordered a set of Quinton Hazell rear brake pads from Parts In Motion aka. carpartsinmotion via ebay https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233704460544 I didn't try fitting the pads until mid January when I discovered they had supplied the wrong items. I contacted them asking for an exchange f...

Re: Excel for sale
That's a pretty good example of how not to sell a car. And as we all know the black Lotus badges had nothing to do with the sad demise of Colin Chapman but were in fact fitted to mourn the death of Prince Albert exactly 121 years earlier.

Well when you think our cars have bodies that can't rust and galvanised chassis they are great year round cars

Re: Tyre sizes for Excel SE
My area had a half decent sprinkling of snow today which gave me my first opportunity to try the Maxxis AP2 all season tyres I bought in November 2019 and I have to say I'm impressed. My mate reportedly had a very "entertaining" day in his BMW 1 Series whereas my Excel coped without any problem. I w...

Re: Wing mirror oddity on an excel
Can't say I'm too keen on those Fiat mirrors. I think mirrors from modern cars tend to look too bulky for the Excel. Then again the O.E. Citroen CX mirrors are a hard act to follow - they have to be the best looking door mirrors ever. It's just a shame they suffer from Citroen build quality. Welcome...

Re: Wheel Paint
Were your wheels painted or power coated ?
Personal experience has led me to be no fan of powder coating. I'm sure it's used only because it's a lot easier and cheaper to apply than actual paint.

Re: Peter James Insurance price hike
Peter, I have to say how offended I am by your remark. I used to be a journalist before I opened my estate agency and I can tell you I currently have many satisfied clients. I also intend to stand for Parliament at the next general election in 2024. Last year my wife left a successful career in bank...

Re: Peter James Insurance price hike
Give Adrian Flux Insurance a try Peter. I've used them for years and found their prices to be very good. They insure me for commuting in the Excel which a lot of companies won't entertain. I also found their service to be very good when my previous Excel was written off and the other party attempted...

Re: Prices on the up.
Blimey it's a nice looking late model car but even for a dealer £17k seems a tad ambitious. Having said that good luck to him
