Re: Excels and Air-conditioning
My suggestion would be to find a complete factory setup that has been removed from a UK car, that would mean everything fits in and looks original. The excel engine bay is already a pretty crowded place so it will be challenging to adapt and install anything aftermarket into it. The original setup, ...

Re: Power Steering Pump Seized
Was a long time ago I repaired mine but from memory if the fluid union is screwed off the back of the bell, the whole bell can be slid off, with some resistance from the big o-ring that seals it. The reason for the seizure might the become apparent.

Re: No Spark Gremlins
I’d replace the cap and rotor. I’d be suspecting that some damage occurred to either/both while it was running partially unclipped.

Re: Leaking brake fluid reservoir..
Not sure what roll pins are being referred to above, my reservoir is a push fit into the grommets that sit in the top of the master cylinder. A while ago these grommets perished and I replaced them. I suspect that may be the source of the leak here, and the only reason it appears on the blanked take...

Have you checked the markings on the camshaft sprockets at tdc? Just wondering if one might be a tooth out.

It’s a while ago but I remember my filler plug rounded as well. I filed the flats until the next socket down (size-wise) fitted on. 7/8” from memory.

Re: Aussie Excel Owners
There are reams and reams of regulatory documents now (including the. Attached), and it’s pretty much guilty until proven innocent, regardless of age. The doc suggests that the only real form of assurance is the testing of components prior to departure from their origin country. Which for a lot of c...
