Gates Racing Blue belt tension

Is there yet a recommended frequency setting for the Blue belt?

I haven't seen anything since a topic in 2017

Re: Oil Change Advice

Some replies to the above (for which thank you all) It's several years since the oil was changed (too many I know) - to Mobil 1. Annual mileage is about 500 mostly short journeys including a once a month run round the adjacent main roads and a bit of motorway. No trackdays, just Sunday runs Tomorrow...

Oil Change Advice

I've just been advised to change my oils as follows. Change to cheapest 20/50 and run for 100 miles. Then change to good oil, filter etc This surprised me and I wondered if anyone had a strong opinion for or against. He said synthetic oils on low mileage coat things and the budget oil allows cleanin...

Re: Replacing rear lower seatbelt mounts

Job now done. I didn't do it myself but the feedback was - not to hard to get the old ones out, the N/S was easy to fit, the O/S was a pig as the alignment of bolt holes was poor. You collective advice was appreciated by the fitter and hopefully this topic will help someone else in the future. Thank...

Replacing rear lower seatbelt mounts

I've got to fit the new ones I got from SJ - if you have replaced these, can you offer any hints which might help me.

Thanks,
Bill

Re: Odometer failed - any tips

Job done - exactly as instructed above - thanks Angus. For the next reader - have a 20mm socket handy to loosen the nut holding the speedo in. Repaired by John at JDO. While easing/pressing/heaving the panel back in a spacer fell to the floor. Ali, about 1cm dia x .5cm thick. I don't know where it c...

Re: Odometer failed - any tips

Thanks guys. I think I'll use a repairer. The only one I can find is at http://www.jdo1.com/speedos.html in Keighley, Yorks and is on holiday till mid August.
I'll report the results later.

Odometer failed - any tips

My car is 91 with VDO speedo in wooden panel with 4 phillips screws.

I expect to have to remove the speedo. Maybe replace a gear wheel or have it repaired.

My question is how to get the speedo out? - wheel on or off; undo the screws; atime saving tips?

Thanks,
Bill

Re: PAS leaking pipe - how to replace?

To close this off. With pipes and a rack from Brian I'm back on the road. BTW the pipes for a late Excel with the Saginaw pump are not the same as for the older models and are not readily available - I had to get some cutting and splicing done by local hydraulics company. Anyone got a budget Saginaw...
