Re: excel newbie

Welcome Ric!

I am in Holmer Green, trying to respray my Excel at the moment, so quite close to you.

Willing to help, but I do not have great knowledge and everything I do know has pretty much come from this forum! 👍🙂

Welcome Dunc.

Take care around the 'Excel' badges (decals) when pressure washing. 😳

Don't ask how I know. 😥

Re: Hello from Oxfordshire

Great story and lovely to hear of a car that will be really treasured! I am in High Wycombe, currently learning how to respray my SA which has 'sloughed' large areas of clearcoat. 😠. Welcome to this friendly forum, an immense source of friendly advice that I have benefitted from. It looks like you h...

I missed it, but hope it is as good as it looked and you are pleased with it. Well done!
Out of interest, what colour and state is your existing interior? I need to redo mine, looking really poor now. :(

Re: First job jobbed - 2 more found !!!

Very impressed with your work especially leather and paint repair. I have a med blue SA which is slowly shedding its skin (rather like a snake does). It would be really helpful if you were to find the time ( ) to detail exactly how you went about the paint repair. Sanding, base coating and cl...

Have already replaced exhaust and tried every position of kick down cable. Following your experience I will now check coil connections etc. Thanks for the po...

Re: Possible problem with SA gearbox?

This is very sensible since keeping it in neutral prevents it stalling when you try to move off and it also reduces tyre wear and drastically reduces the chances of getting a speeding fine. I keep mine in neutral all the time!

Welcome to wedge world.
Do not worry about tidying up the bodywork, the worse it looks the better ('cos it will make mine look smarter when parked next to yours at the next gathering. ) :D

Re: Automatic transmission hesitation

I had to do the same thing but since I am not at home at the moment I cannot remember what I raised it to. I have a feeling it was more than 1200 but will check when I return home in a couple of weeks. Strangely mine only seemed to start doing this after I removed the ab14 etc. and replaced it with ...
