Re: Paint Job Update
I was wondering if the B pillar covers and window seals are being removed? Sorry, I didn't spot this question earlier! The B pillar trims are staying in place. The window seals on the door tops are being removed, I've bought him some replacements to fit afterwards. However the ones around the rear ...

Re: Oil Pressure.
The Owners handbook for a non SE (normal running conditions) lists 0.34 Bar at idle, 2.4 Bar at 3.5K and 3.1 Bar at 6.5K. The oil pressure is used to confirm the engine has warmed up. What you describe is as expected, that is the idle pressure is low when hot.

Pull the two air boxes out and you will find two wing nuts to release the center dash panel.

Re: Damper bump and rebound
I have Protech dampers and springs (other) from SJ all round fitted over 10 years ago. I get noticeable rebound when going over bumps at speed.

Exhaust Rubber Mounts
It's not the most exciting part of the car and so is easily ignored. It was within the first 6 months of owning the car one of the rear boxes came loose on the way back to Douglas. It was dragged down the road hanging from the hoops until I realized and stopped. I hence purchased a new stainless exh...

Re: Seat sewing machine advice needed!
Hi Richard, has your wife been experimenting with needles such as the denim or leather types at all? There is also the tricks of putting news paper under difficult materials (it can be torn off afterwards) or turning it upside down. Try also experimenting with the presser foot pressure. I think an i...

Hello Mauro
The trim under the windscreen is in fantastic condition. The leather is prone to shrinking and distorting so keep an eye on it when you are back outside.

Re: Water Pump Removal and Replacement
Hi Brian, checking is easier said than done. If the back of the pulley was damp it may indicate the seal. I would start by double checking the rubber hoses for leaks. If they haven't been replaced in the last decade you may be lucky and it's not the pump.

Re: Window Frame paint
I'm not sure there is a DIY powder coating touch up method so I will try paint. Looks like most black powders for powder coating on Ebay are RAL9005.

Is it leaking from the gasket to the block or around the pump pulley shaft?

Window Frame paint
I have a question as black is a hard color to match, anyone know the code number for the paint used on the new window frames? I've got a small scratch that needs a bit of a touch up.

I believe it was 84 that the spoiler was introduced along with air vents in the bonnet, I've not seen it on 82 or 83 models. The boot lid was made larger than the original Eclat design at the same time, something to check. The spoiler got bigger on the SE a couple of years later and then changed aga...
