Hi all, I am trying to take the dash out, and have everything disconnected, except the Choke knob. Is there a way to remove just the knob to remove the dash without removing the entire Choke cable?

Re: Capping rails - (over-door to C-pillar body panels)
I was able to take the ones off of my 84 since I am preparing to paint mine. Lots of small rusty screw along the lower edge and lots of clear silicone. I will say that I was unable to get the rear most one off and ended up breaking the fiberglass because I could not even fit a screwdriver in between...

Re: Carpet quantity
I found this company a while ago: https://www.bondproducts.com/. Not used them yet but they offer a DIY carpet binding product. However they are USA based. ATB Richard I might have to try this since I am planning to do the same this summer. Being in the US, I will let everyone know how well it work...

Re: AVO coil overs
I am using the AVO's on the front of my Lotus and have been very happy with them. I do not track the car, but they seem very nice for my use.

Re: 84 excel barn find at auction
Looking at the first one, that they call a 1984, wouldn't it be a 1985 since it is a wide body?

Update
I know I haven't posted here for quite some time, but keeping busy at work here. Finally getting some time to work on the Excel, and over this winter I am taking it apart, painting and redoing the interior. I am hoping to have it back on the road late spring/early summer. I am planning to replace th...

Re: Moved my Excel to the US
Bill, For the PA plate, same size, I just drilled 2 holes, and have it mounted at an angle, so that the top of the plate is up in the corner inside the area, and the bottom just sits resting against the bottom. I hope this makes sense, since I can't take pictures of it right now since I have it apar...

Re: US Owner
I brought mine over last year, and have it apart right now to paint and redo the interior over the winter. Hoping to have it all done by spring. I am currently in Frederick MD.

Re: Number Crunch Update
Well there should be one less listed on there from Nov 2015, but only because it is now in the US, and enjoying life over on this side of the pond.

Re: Remove rear lights? And renew silvering?
Rich, I have done this and getting the lights apart is the hardest part. Follow the tutorial and getting the lights out is not too bad. Getting the lens off the plastic back is not easy. I chipped a few spots when cutting through the glue to get them apart. I used a "chrome" paint on mine and it did...

Moved my Excel to the US
Haven't been on for quite some time due to moving and getting the house settled, but moved to the US, and have the Excel here now. Should be interesting getting parts, but I think I should be able to survive with the car here. Picked up the car about 4 weeks ago, and get 2 blocks from the importer, ...

Parking Brake Question
Hi All, Trying to ship my car out to the United States, and have failed twice now, because the parking brake does not hold strong enough in reverse. After the first failure, I took the car to my local garage, since all my tools are packed and shipped already, and they fitted new shoes. The brakes ho...
Appraisal
I am preparing to ship my Excel over the pond to the US in about a month, and looking over the paperwork, it looks like they will only replace at NADA book value if anything happens. Now I know it isn't the nicest Excel out there, but I would like to get reimbursed properly in case the ship happens ...
