Carburettor refurb kit for 1987 Excel and bits

Hi All,
I have this carburettor refurbishment kit which I didn't use before selling the car.
Also a brand new set of locking wheel nuts
Also a driver door latch, taken off, opened up and repaired
Any of these if any interest to anyone here?
Regards Peter

Re: 1987 Excel SA

Hi HawaiisO No problem! I don't think I did get your email but will check on my laptop later. As I said above, I didn't want the hassle of a face to face with a buyer, so a dealer was the answer for me. I spent 6 quite enjoyable years with it taking one step forward and two back, until the list of t...

Re: 1987 Excel SA

Thanks Bryan. I didn't want the hassle of eBay myself, so Googled classic cars wanted on Saturday, spoke to a gent that lunchtime, sent pictures, got an offer by 5pm that same day, accepted it on Sunday, and they collected it Wednesday mid morning in exchange for cash. I wanted a quick sale and no c...

Re: 1987 Excel SA

Hello, No, this was a draft wording I put together in the expectation I would probably end up putting it on a bid site, but popped it on here first in the hope of avoiding that hassle. I would be delighted to email pictures to you if you are interested and if you let me have your email address regar...

Re: Removing the door latch mechanism?

Oh well, the slider (which I think is brass) has broken in mine, so am intending to make a new one out of aluminium angle to replace it.

Binnacle removal, again

I have to recover the dashboard binnacle now! I have a later SA (1987) and note from the service notes that there are 6 number M6 bolts, but only 4 are shown on the diagram. 3 of these can be seen from the panel below the steering wheel, so no problems there, and I am sure I can find the one above t...

I have to do that job now! Re: Sun Visors

Glue failed in the sun.
Gave up on the existing visors, and got some new Ford items, indeterminate model as paperwork lost, and fitted them.
Fawn colour all round, slightly larger than I would like, but perfectly acceptable and a breath of fresh air

Re: Fuel smell in boot

Thanks for the photos gents. Having taken the bumper off, I can confirm that there was no hole for the fuel vent. I have drilled one centrally, away from the exhaust pipes, as these obviously get hot and have degraded the plastic bumper material somewhat adjacent to them. A new pipe is routed from t...

Re: Fuel smell in boot

Anyone have a photo of the pipe popping through the bumper? (There's no hole in my bumper, and I will probably have to drill one)

Re: Fuel smell in boot

I am about to replace my fuel tank breather pipe (be great to have one length rather than 20 bits in the boot!) and am poised to take the bumper off to access the rear part of the pipe. However, I don't seem to have a hole in my bumper for the pipe to poke through, and wonder where the end will be w...
