Re: Elite boot lid "Push Here To Close" label
Great. Thanks. That's the thread I remember from previous. The font is quite different to the remnants of my sticker. If I can just figure out how to include a picture in post, I'd show all what I have so far. Spoke to Lotus Bit's today. They don't have anything. I've contacted isaydingdong who were...

Re: Elite boot lid "Push Here To Close" label
Thanks Ian. Nothing on the suggested Web site, but I'll email them with my current best estimate of what this label looked like. Can't say it is a nice font (very top heavy). The remnants of my label give good indication of what the P, S, H and E looked like, but I've had to guess at the other chara...

Re: Elite vin plate
Correct. My car is very early. The VIN plate was stamped up in March 74, so agree they were using up old stock.

Re: Elite vin plate
SJ Sports cars have these. I got one just last weekend. They look identical, but the listed Lubricants are in a different order to my original plate. But then again, they are different again on photo in this thread. - All have the correct spelling of Lubricant though. Similar topic. Anyone know wher...

Elite boot lid "Push Here To Close" label
Anyone out there know the font used and layout of the "PRESS HERE TO CLOSE" label on the rear hatch of a 1974 elite. I have enough visible to see some of the letters, and it looks like the background was originally silver with black letter. I measure the label at 24mm x 20mm. Beyond that, I don't ha...

Is it just the flange with the wheel studs on you are looking for?
I might have one. Will need to check.

1974 Elite Boot Fittings / battery box / covers
Hi Anyone know what the battery cover looked like on the earliest S1 Elites (1974)? I got a carpet covered plywood box from Lotusbits ( Rubber hook on the back rear and a flap hinged to the front with a stud to hold closed (if it was all there!)), but now I've come across a line drawing of a cover a...

Re: Early Elite (1974) Bumper Finish
Thanks for replies. Might just chance my arm with a call to Farmer Richard sometime. Fully expecting the Engine / Gear box will need lifting out again before we're running. Can't imagine the clutch will free after 25 years! To answer the riddle, we moved to Germany for 3 years. Took car thinking I'd...

Re: Early Elite (1974) Bumper Finish
Thanks for the reply Pete. Never thought about the sill covers being anything other than body colour. That's certainly making me look back at old publicity pictures. Problem is most of them are Black & White ! Long, long ago when I took the car off the road, I'd planned to paint bumpers in Body colo...

Early Elite (1974) Bumper Finish
Hi all out there. - First post to the site.
Anyone help on what black finish the bumpers were on first Elites ? Matt, Satin, Gloss? %age Matt etc?
A long term project, been on hold for too many years, but finally got started again.
Regards Tony
