Re: The Future of the Club

I would be prepared to pay a membership fee as I have already made a £20 donation to the admin in the past to help keep the site running. That said the site should only be open to view or ask for help to the members not the free loaders.

Re: New rear brake pads - bedding in period?

I had all four of mine refurbed at SJ Sports at a couple of months intervals per pair, they came back like new they only took about two weeks for each pair, they cost me about £75 each all in. They will supply refurbed replacements if you can't wait but I wanted mine back so that I knew they would f...

Re: 83 Excel from from Finland

Just a word I know it is very frustrating waiting for parts to arrive we've all been there, but you shouldn't get up tight or hassle Lotusbits as there are very few places to get parts for these old Excels. I am not saying you are wrong but I have been told in the past two days for dispatch, but som...

Re: 83 Excel from from Finland

I know its a bit late now but you can make up a list of parts you require on web at SJ SPORTS who know our Excels all years very well, generally have all parts in stock, you can see what the total costs are then you can pay and usually they post the next the day.

Re: Fuel Line

Thanks Tanz I was wondering if I could use split cable conduit over the top of the existing plastic sleeve because as you said
it is only there to protect the fuel line.

Will order some and fit it on.

This will probably be one of the easiest fixes I have done to date on my Excel.

Fuel Line

Hi. I have found that the black sleeve on my fuel line in the engine bay has cracked in a number of places and is falling apart so I would like to replace it. I have found a number of threads on here with the same problem and owners saying they wish to replace it but none of them give a supplier, si...

Re: Emissions data

MOT passed with no advisories.

CO 1.611%
HC 556 ppm

Checked my emissions with my CO analyser which did read 2.15 so knew it would pass.

Re: Rear body to chassis bolts

Yes Dave I agree with you not to jack at the jacking plate point. That is why I put stickers on the four corners even though I had put new jacking plates on to make it look as it did when it left Lotus (see photo ). Re: headlights pop up when key is removed!!!!!

Hi.
At least you have admitted your oversight and found the fault, and by posting it on here might help someone
in the future if they have a similar problem and then they can fix it in quick time.

So good on you.
