Re: Wanted Excel in VGC
I do hope the interior colour for that Celebration is just a photographic misrepresentation, because those cars do work really well as a colour scheme. That said, there is a photo that includes both a Lotus badge and the interior, and in that the interior colour still looks off but the yellow of the...

Re: Wanted Excel in VGC
Happy hunting Andrew, and with that budget it should cover almost all models (possible exception on a very sorted celebration as they are now bobbing around that figure).

Re: Seat Belt bolt sheared
Given what the bolt is for and just how bad it would be if you had to try and repair the captive nut, I'd suggest building a small drill jig to get central and parallel to the bolt line. Even if it's just a nut that screws on part of one thread, then with a bit of steel fitted in the other side of t...

Another vote for 075, I got mine from Tanya (I purchased a Bosch silver) via eBay as it was cheaper than direct from Tanya's website at the time (think there was a discount code on eBay.

It is entirely possible that thee retailers 'supplies have dried up and the manufacturers are charging more so the one retailer's price is just reflective of how their stock at thee old price has gone.

Re: Distributor
Not tried on a Lotus but on a Mini I used Simonbbc.com , might be worth a call to find out the options, I think (IIRC) the M4 designates the advance characteristics so there might be a close equivalent they do.
Re: cleaning
I should clarify, my recommendation is for grease removal, looks like the others have covered rust removal.
Re: cleaning
Pete, you can use solvent that's of the type that evaporates easily (which is what I believe you are thinking of) or you could use a water-based cleaning solution which works quite well. For the latter, it's like using Gunk, but having several chances without the need to keep rinsing. A nylon bristl...

Re: Breather pipe- bumper in place?
Thanks everybody, it seems that in my case I may just try the wire in the middle method and if (when) it fails, I'll drill out the rivets (installed less than 3 weeks ago, before I knew there was a fuel smell). The pipe is quite rotten so I think taping it will lead to a new pipe attached to a very ...

Breather pipe- bumper in place?
I've replaced fuel tank breather pipes before, but each time I've done it with the bumper out of the way. I was wondering whether I could manage to replace it all the way from thee tank to the bumper, but leave thee bumper where it is. I have a few ideas at present (wire to try and "fish" it through...
