A little story about the Eclat Sprint‘s origins in the words of Ollie
The following is an extract from Ollie’s files reproduced with family permission. “Throughout the time at Ketteringham, Chapman would divert Oliver to attend to other areas of his business interests. Lotus had built some 36 Eclat's with cheaper off the shelf wheels, a four speed gearbox and a low ax...

Re: Lotus in the Peak 2024
Booked in at the Manifold for Friday and Saturday.
I guess in terms of distance from event, it’s more about where the runs will start from, if the same as the last couple of years.

Re: Radiator Undertray
There should be two holes in the undertray that line up with the two threaded studs sticking out from the bottom of the radiator. I can’t remember what other fixings there are - I think two more holes into captive nuts? I’m sure someone else will answer that part. I also think there were about 2-4 d...

Re: Coolant leak - otter switch
On mine the otter switch is a tight fit in the rubber bung and expands it to make the seal when inserted. This rubber goes hard over time and will stop sealing. So ideally get a new rubber bung and your problem should, hopefully, be solved. Yeah - mine should be the same, but the fit isn't particul...

Re: Active Esprit
but..... I presume the active Excel never made it out of the captivity of Hethel. Bash I think at least 2 did. One was for sale when I bought my first one. It needed some restoration and was missing it’s brains. Another possible one came up for sale about 2 years ago. Fully restored, but converted ...

Certainly planning for us to be there.
This year I booked in February - they had a promotion with discount on rooms - might be worth waiting to see if they do the same next year ?

Re: Coolant Pressure Testing Kit
Have you thought about changing to Evans waterless - you don’t need pressure in the system for it to work - gives the coolant system an easier time.

Re: NEC Restoration Show - 22-24 March 2024
Hi Richard, I did offer to bring a car - possibly the prototype Eclat Excel, but I’ve not heard anything one way or the other, so assumed it isn’t included in your original plans, but I’m pretty sure I could arrange to bring it, or possibly the SE that I have just finished painting, but that one I w...
