Blue Excel Dxxx TMR heading out of Newbury

Spotted about 1:15pm today, a regal-looking Mediterranean Blue (I think) Excel, something like Dxxx TMR, heading south out of Newbury at Wash Common.
Lovely day for a drive, I was in the Audi returning from work.
Other than to & from meets, I won't be surprised if that's the only one I see this year.

Re: Hampshire meet up April?

I'd be up for this, if we're still below 6 cars?
Looks like the name is "West Wood Car Park" on Google Maps even though its correct name is "The Junction Car Park".

Re: New comer - Progress (edit)

966 "likes" to date and 80 responses, mainly along the lines of "my dad had one of those" but also pointing out that the symbols below the Excel are those of Harry's head-up display (HUD).

Re: Numbers & stats

On of the issues I have with Excel (spreadsheets!) charts and graphs is that the axis data range is set to 'dynamically auto-scale axis' by default. Which is OK-ish for a single standalone graph but not ideal when you want to compare rates of change in data between multiple charts/graphs. If you ma...

Re: Ollie’s Funeral request for cars

I'll be there, travelling up from Newbury the day before, via Oxford / Bedford / St.Neots. When I'm not driving, I do funerals, as a Humanist funerals celebrant. Does anyone know if Oliver a) had any religion b) had a favourite colour? If we happened to be parked up when the funeral cortege passes, ...

Incredible price. The eBay link will disappear eventually, so here's three of the twelve photos posted: https://www.dropbox.com/s/6bsv4lrt998ew67/s-l1600.jpg?raw=1 https://www.dropbox.com/s/ipxtmcbeey5bwd7/s-l1600%20%281%29.jpg?raw=1 https://www.dropbox.com/s/7fiq0b31askt88o/s-l1600%20%282%29.jpg?ra...

Re: Peter James Insurance price hike

Things got worse for me today! Still no head space to ring around insurance companies. :( My 30yo son rang early this morning to say he has put £60 of Diesel in the VW Camper and the fuel gauge still reads low... Turns out the numpty has filled the DRINKING water tank with DIESEL! How do I divorce ...

Re: Excel (and Lotus) magazine scans

Just about to eBay a few car magazines and in the July 1983 issue is this rather nice advert for a very early narrow-body Excel with black bumpers. https://www.dropbox.com/s/412tno0zfprxpn6/2020-10-11%2014.38.46.jpg?raw=1 Reason for posting it though is that there is no mention of the "Eclat Excel" ...

Shalbourne Classic Car Show Sunday 30th August 2020

If you are in West Berkshire / Wiltshire or North Hampshire you might be interested in this. Late notice, but it was thought to be cancelled until recently. Shalbourne is at the edge of Wiltshire / West Berkshire, a few miles S of Hungerford and W of Newbury, N of Andover. I'll be there with my Cele...

Re: 1992 Excel SE in online auction

I'm no expert.... but that auction house doesn't have any regard for GDPR. Previous owners' names, addresses, correspondence plastered all over the listing.

Re: 1992 Excel SE in online auction

I viewed this car last summer and came close to a deal, but not quite close enough (it hadn't had a recent cam belt change at the time). It's had some work done since, quite a lot of work it seems. I've got some more photos, but the ones on the auction site are quite sufficient. It was previously jo...

I'm selling a set of EBC discs and Ultimax2 pads on eBay at the moment, the PO supplied them with my car.
Do you have the listing number?
