Hi Steve The beans.... I'm using a General Motors V8 - Chevy LS1. 350-450 horsepower naturally aspirated, depending on cam; 600-800 with supercharger/twin turbos. It's about 100lb heavier than the Lotus engine, but with a lighter aluminium radiator, no air-con compressor/condensor, and a lightweight...

The de-ox gel is brilliant - just remember to keep it from drying out while it is working. I use a toothbrush-sized wire brush dipped in more gel to scrub at the rust and keep it wet. I have just painted my whole chassis with etch primer after de-greasing and de-rusting. I'm going to use a "cold gal...

Hi Fred The hidden fixings are little plastic 'Christmas trees' which must become hard with age. They are located at each corner of the radio aperture. Mine was also difficult to remove; impossible with the radio in place. I removed the radio and used the thinnest 'lever' I could find. The panel cam...

Hi Graeme
Mike Taylor at www.Lotusbits.com can supply stainless rear seatbelt anchor brackets. They just bolt in, but can be difficult to remove because of the rust.

I removed the body using a trolley jack, blocks of wood, four tall axle stands and two lengths of four x four timber. You can then just roll the chassis from under it as Spav says. You need not worry about the body flexing - it is remarkably stiff. I'll email you a couple of photos - still haven't d...
