Redexcel - There's a lot of red ones about isn't there. The previouse owner had it resprayed so it looks good. Needs a tune up, new suspension, head lining. Plenty to keep me busy when the wife allows

Now i've worked out how to get pictures in the text i'm like a kid with a new toy :) I had a clock but no way of holding it to check the run out of my disc's. A magnetic base would be ideal but I hadn't got one. I made a bracket from a bent piece of metal and bolted it to where the caliper bolts go....

The old caliper looks as if it might be original. The piston face is damaged as if some one has been tapping it with a hammer

I have put a clock on the disc and it is running out by 0.14mm. Does anyone know what is the allowable limit The Haynes manual for my Astra quotes 0.1mm. Is .04 over such a disaster

Shifted the allen bolt with a 5mm drive bit I purchesed today. Caliper is now off. I will sort out a replacement this week. Will put a clock on the disc to see if all that heat has distorted it.
