Re: Rear Fog lights / Horn not working

Our horn stopped working. Turned out that the cigar lighter had shorted (Same fuse). Disconnected it and problem solved.

Re: door opening light and red warning not working

In our pre-SE, I could remove both switches by just dropping the under dash panels. I then dismantled the switches by drilling out the rivets and cleaned them up. Reassembled with small screws and all was then fine. Having said that-remove any redundant alarm. I didn't even know our car had one unti...

Re: Front bumper and spoiler

RRIM is a version of GRP-not like the later rubber. It isn't really possible to repair it, unlike conventional GRP. Used in 1985 MY only as far as I'm aware.

Re: Front bumper and spoiler

It won't be RRIM- as far as I'm aware they were 85 model year only. I fitted a later SE bumper to replace our RRIM one and it was flexible plastic.

Re: Clutch issue-hydraulics?

Reporting back as requested. All drain and filler plugs came out without issue. Gearbox was full of red ATF ! (I think thats what it was anyway.) Diff oil WELL past its best. Drained both thoroughly and even then only got a combined 2.2 litres of old fluid-more than a litre has gone missing somewher...

Toyota clutch slave cylinder

Guys
I see lots of Toyota clutch slave cylinders for sale that look identical to our Excel one. Does anyone have a Toyota part number I could use for cross reference?

Clutch issue-hydraulics?

Guys Unusual gear selection problem yesterday. Background is that master cylinder failed in France last year-replaced with new, all fine since. Went for a long drive yesterday, car was brilliant. On the way home we got snarled up in traffic for 30 mins in real heat. The car didn't overheat however. ...

The latches at the beam end, are of triumph ilk IIRC.

Has anyone installed on an Excel a single Winking headlight, strictly illegal I suppose, but what other car can do it?
Could even be remote operated.

Dave the cog.
Ours does that occasionally as standard!

Re: Early dash Excel-switch removal

Thanks guys
Turned out to be much easier than I thought. The switch does just clip in but some idiot had glued it so I had to remove the panel. Our car doesn't have the fibreoptic system at all.
