It did 832 miles last year. I’m trying to keep it under 100,000 which is right hard when at last MOT showed 99,960.
From what I read, all you need is a VDO speedo. - although at the moment, mines behaving itself.

Re: Fuel smell in boot

The built in luggage compartment petrol fragrancer is at times mighty useful, I can always locate my luggage in a hotel store room no matter how full the room may be (even with my eyes closed). Strangely my Excel has the fragrencer system fitted but not my Eclat or was it an optional extra on the E...

Re: Locations for meet-ups

Richard Possibly an Idea for the future.. WA15 8XQ Ringway Visitor Center (Concord) and the Romper pub nearby. Just off the M56 at Manchester an interesting place 80miles from Birmingham (Midlands), LLandudno (North Wales), Kendal (the North West of England) and the point between Leeds and York (Yor...

Re: Rear brakes pads and discs

Hi Alan Delphi Recon for the brake pads LP146 crossing over to Lotus 7701602289 where the original equipment manufacturer was Bendix the caliper is common to other vehicles and as such Delphi, TRW and a couple of others are still producing the pad. However Apec, Nipparts and Brake engineering to lis...

Registration number is probably for a Bell and Colvill car. It’s on EBay too.

Re: Cool cars we used to own

Slight deviation here. I believe this was my Dads car, one I never got to see, as a brisk down hill pursuit and a popped bonnet half way down ended in a flattened screen, sore head and not enough pennies to repair the body. With a new wife and a baby on the way the car was traded in a direct swap f...

Re: GEB193N on Ebay

Tony I applaud your ingenuity, I believe that the body needed inclining to clear the engine so during manufacture the bodies were angled at the factory. As you were jacking up most likely you replicated the 16 or so degrees needed to clear. I was going straight up on the ramp so out came the motor. ...

Re: GEB193N on Ebay

Hi Neil Welcolme to the forum:

Its a bit of a task to separate the subframe (chassis) from the body. I took the engine and interior out to do it and had access to a two poster.

Best of luck and thank you for saving an early car.
