Saw a red Elite MUK ***P (can’t quite remember numbers) on the back of a trailer heading west near Reading in the M4 this evening.
Anyone in here?

Narrow body 84 Eclat
This might make a good, possibly easy project for someone to get back on the road. Generally looks pretty good. 1984 £3750 https://www.gumtree.com/p/other-miscellaneous-goods/lotus-excel/1469703581?utm_source=WhatsApp%2B&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=socialbuttons&fbclid=IwAR3DUsJVjc5gE8dd2J9AWIC_w...

Re: 74 Elite wiring improvements
I wonder if that thermal switch is behind the stories of headlights just failing and loosing the headlights. I’m sure it happened once when Ollie was driving one, and the last hotel we had the Ollie run meal at - I had a good conversation with the lady running it and she relayed a story to me of an ...

Re: Wanted old foam type insulation
Sorry, can't help you Alan, but there is a guy on the other forum who is restoring an Elite and has found almost the exact same stuff, but new. If you want I can contact him to find out where he got it from - or are you trying to retain originality? Pete Yes please, would be interested if it’s a cl...

Wanted old foam type insulation
Does anyone have any of the original hard black rubber with foam backing sound deadening material available - possibly after changing to more modern sound insulation?

Re: Excel SA on FB Marketplace.- Caution
That is a strange one. Last change if owner early this year. Change of colour from black to grey in 2010 Registration number comes back as an early 1985 Eclat Excel. So as you say, everything about that car is wrong for 1985, except the reg number!!! All says post 90MY even the door cards have the p...

You need to be logged in via a web page NOT on an app on a phone, iPad etc.
ie go to Onedrive via Microsoft edge, chrome, safari etc.
it will then be as the video.

Re: Register of potential show cars
Good idea.
Happy to offer the éclat Excel prototype for display - possibly more suitable for the resto show as not exactly immaculate, although very presentable.
When the SE is finished, happy to offer that one too, but that’ll be a little while yet.

Re: Seat refurbishment
I'm in the process of making patterns and moulds to reproduce the seat foams for the Elite but I'm not really sure how similar the Excel seats are - can't remember  . I'll have to pop down to MetBlue's and compare the two side by side. It may be another year till mine are finished though, so ...

Could it have been a demonstrator? Mine was registered with the dealer for first 8 months of its life.

The curse of the PO!!!
At least it wasn’t too hard to sort and in time before anything worse happened.

Re: NEC Classic Motor Show 2023 Friday 10 - Sunday 12 November 2023
We'll have a paper copy of the register I've been compiling on the stand, certainly from Saturday, and hopefully it will be there on Friday. Covers all Elites, Eclats and Excels. Over 750 cars listed, generally ordered by date of registration. Drop by and see if your cars on the list and if it is, ...

Re: SE Gear knob
Never really quite worked out how to finish the underside though, so it's been sitting by my computer for a couple of years now. As picture shows, the steel insert is just a press fit in originally. Touch of epoxy when I finally decide what i'm doing will keep it in place ( assuming I use it). Tony...

Re: I have bought an 89 Excel SA site unseen
Can you respond to the individual messages to me as i have done? - Yes you can but they can also be edited Many thanks By the way, I think this will be a fabulous car for you Stu To be honest I am a little nervous as to its pace as I have had, some 20 odd years ago, two SE's and currently have seve...
