Been working on the window lift motor but i have failed it is on a late 1990 excel may have to replace the motors. unless someone on here can advise striped cleaned works on the bench fine also adjusted the window frame securing bolts but it will not work through full travel it must have a thermal c...

The wiper blade has decided to not bother parking anymore just stops when switched off. module or park switch anyone.

I've always used Aerotight nuts on there, and yes they can be a right PITA to undo. You're not too far from both the body (fire damage) and the engine (damage to ali casting) so be careful with the gas. I have an electric induction heater kit that's good for such jobs but that might struggle given ...

Anyone got a plan for getting the 3 down pipe nuts undone from the manifold. mine are cold seized on there. i may have to resort to betting my gas welding torch on them. If i recall they are a bit special

The cables from control to heater on my car size up every couple of years they have done it from when the car was new. i have to free them off again as they have stopped working. I have some second hand cables now i am going to fit.

Brakes all done inc the master cylinder that was a lot of work all four callipers and master cylinder took a while to bleed them but all sorted now.
next job is the exhaust manifold put the two studs that i found on top of the s/rack back in.

leaving jobs like that thats when the rot creeps in eventually the car is taken off the road and dies So it's on the job list when brakes are finished

Hello all just changing the rack boots and found two studs aprox 5/16 1/2 inch spanner fits the nuts i have had a look i have no idea just now whee they have fallen out of anyone had this ??? ? Exhaust studs+nuts? Spot on yep front pair of studs ex manifold best way to get at them can anyone advise...

re commissioning the excel talk about job creep its been off the road for about 15 years new rack boots. replaced all the rubber dust seals on most of the ball joints. Remove front brakes bead blast and rebuild with new seals. Dug out my spare discs and pads i bought at the club lotus show at combe ...

Could be but on top of the rack about 2 inches apart yes they were exhaust side but to far forward i think i have a spare engine tucked away i shall pull it out to se if i can where they have fallen from thank you. andy
