Re: Changing Clutch - the most awkward way?
Blimey, that sounds arkward. The engine can be separated from the gearbox and pulled out on a crane that you had out anyway, or, engine and gearbox together without touching the diff or prop.

Re: Open boot lock failed
Have you tried pushing the bootlid down while twisting the key to release any pressure on the clasp.

https://onedrive.live.com/embed?resid=6A4587DD2206DDBA%21984&authkey=%21AJHuIXNpivu830w&height=1024 Its just a bolt with knob on the end... Anyway, the clearance should be about 0.6 to 0.65mm engine off and vacuum released. DONT press the brake pedal when doing any of this with the master cylinder ...

Re: Brake pedal adjustment
Ive got a picture somewhere of the adjuster, I will dig it out later and post it. If you get it too cose on clearance you might find the brakes start binding slightly after a short drive but you just need to back the clearance off very slightly if that happens. Watch this space.

Re: New Owner - Sorting Out the Car
Its easy, you just need a drift and a hammer for the outer race of the inside bearing. No special tools and no press required.

Re: Potential Buyer Looking for Advice Please
Useful info there, Ive spent hours twisting cables and using rfi sleeves and magnacor plug leads, relocating the coil etc and I still get the occasional fault code 36 for a couple of seconds even though the ecu is self contained within the 4 barrel unit, however it isnt causing any rough running (ye...

Re: Potential Buyer Looking for Advice Please
One of the slight issues Ive had with my injection setup has been 'noise' through the wiring causing fault codes and even cutting out, it is a pain to deal with and twisted wires and rfi sleeves does seem to be the cure.

See my v8 link from page 15 onwards. https://www.lotusexcel.net/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=8397&start=210 Also andy did it to a standard excel. https://www.lotusexcel.net/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=12499 To be honest a combination of the two methods means you could do it without all of the kit from another car. ...
