Over axle exhaust pipes
I have a pair of the longer over axle pipes surplus to my needs. I'm not sure exactly which models had these longer pipes, but I can say for sure the MY89 with Grundy system DOESN'T - Hence why I don't need. They are stainless steel ( I painted with a heat resistant black paint) and the flange plate...

Re: Heater Controls
Are you sure you're missing a white cable clip? There shouldn't be one where to you've circled in red if I recall. That's the pivot for the two levers.
The white clips secure the end of the black outer cable, two push in from above, two from below IIRC.

Re: NEC Restoration Show 2024 - Call for Volunteers
I can do Friday, no problem. TBH, it's probably slightly better for me than Saturday. Not sure I understand the start of this, as I had a Saturday slot and it seams you were looking for a Friday ticket. Doesn't matter though. I can meet you somewhere Richard W to collect mugs.drop me a text and we c...

Re: Door lights
Obvious question, but if you're in the middle of a refurb, are your doors cards fitted. Without the inner card, there's nothing to reach the plunger. If cards are on, pull the feed wire to the switch . If light goes off, switch is the issue. Remember there's a time delay in the circuit so light won'...

Re: Lucas distributor lower cover
Links not working Tanz, but searching on Distributor on the SJ site comes up with a flash shield, which I think is the part being discussed here.

Re: Steering Rack - Why rigid mounted not isolation bush
Had decided the rubber bushes were heading for the bin, but became a no brainer anyway. Bolt for the bush was M10. Chassis hole and bolt is M12.
Didn't take a lot to remove. Only the inner sleeve was steel, so pulled out easily with a long bolt and a socket to draw into.

Re: Riviera
Not convinced it sold. Price never seemed to move.
This cars been looking for a long term owner for at least 5 years. Was in an auction back in 2019 but didn't sell, then was trying to be sold mid last year for around the £8.5 k. I think it sold as log book shows last issue mid last year.

Re: First job jobbed - 2 more found !!!
I've had issues with the Power steering all the while I've owned the car. Slow speed manoeuvring with engine revs below about 2000, and often there was no assistance. I found a Saginaw Steering pump on Ebay so fitted and things were no better - Actually worse. The initial fluid drained out was "blac...

Steering Rack - Why rigid mounted not isolation bush
For reasons I'll go into elsewhere, I've had my rack rebuilt, but the main casing was beyond help, so it was rebuilt with a different second hand casing the company had kicking around. On collection I note it has isolation bushes pressed into the mounting points. For some reason, Lotus used two top ...
