That looks like an episode from the early eighties when I used to watch Taggart (and Taggart was actually a character in the show ! ).

Yes they were driveable. They were powered by a Ford 4 pot engine and were reportedly pigs to drive. One of their little quirks was a gearlever hidden inside the centre console - a turbine powered car couldn't be seen to have a four speed gearshift. They cost an absolute fortune to build. There were...

That is a very nice colour.

With an Excel in that colour it wouldn't be too hard to imagine being behind the wheel of Ed Straker's turbine car...

I'm going to re-colour my Excel's leather with a Woolies kit soon. I intend to take the front and rear seats out along with the door cards but I'm wondering about the dashboard and centre console. I'd like to ask Fred, or anyone else in the know, how easy/difficult is it to get these parts out ? I w...

What was the turn out like in general Angus ? I'd heard there was supposed to be a good number of cars attending.

I'd love to have gone but I didn't finish work until 2pm.

Dave, worry ye not (as Frankie Howerd used to say). I've spoken to previous keepers and have old MOTs to support mileage reading. As far as the back seat goes - when you are carrying two passengers someone has to draw the short and strangely contorted straw. I'll try and get to the Riverside - thank...

I've not owned my Excel for long but I'd like to add my observations. I don't think I could have caused a bigger stir amongst my workmates if I had paid £100k and turned up in a new Aston ! I haven't gone around bragging about the Excel but I've lost count of the number of people who have approached...

I'm inclined to agree with the ex-owner.

I replaced the plastic hoses on my Triumph with black fuel injection hoses after the plastic ones went brittle rather quickly. I intend to do the same on my Excel asap.

Thanks for the invite to the show Angus. Claire and I had a grand day out.

There was a nice selection of motors at the show and it was good to meet the faces behind the forum names.

Car show exhibitor fees

It's a good few years since I last attended a car show as an exhibitor rather than a visitor. The last time was at Carlisle Racecourse classic car show with the Mini Cooper I then owned. As an exhibitor I wasn't charged an entry fee, nor did I expect to be. I've noticed that the forthcoming Raby Cas...

Thanks for the welcome chaps.

Yes Angus I'm planning on visiting the Raby Castle show on Sunday if the weather is dry. I'm still drying out after a 5 day break in North Yorkshire last week.
