That near side door looks a significant problem now. Still looks better than the one on the Citroen! https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/b/bc/1988_Citro%C3%ABn_CX_Safari_%22Grand_Design%22_camper_van_-_Top_Gear_%285963639182%29.jpg/1024px-1988_Citro%C3%ABn_CX_Safari_%22Grand_Design...

Re: NEC Restoration Show 2024 - Discounted Tickets
One more week to go to get discounted tickets! OK, they are still discounted after this time, but if we can sell two more tickets using the club code by 29th Feb, we will get an additional wristband for those helping on the club stand. Tickets can be booked here , and use the code: S24CC917 We've be...

Re: Another timing belt question
I use an Krikit gauge - much cheaper and widely available.
The ever reliable and thorough Tim Engel did a comparison, posted on this post on Pistonheads, you need about ~52 on the Krikit scale.

You definitely have the correct cam belt, with either the trapezoidal or semi-circular teeth profile to match the pulleys?

Re: Top Gear Butchery
That's an old episode, before I even got my Excel! One thing to note about that episode - despite the inevitable quip about reliability when the car first appeared, it performed faultlessly throughout the episode. I'm guessing May went for that option on the assumption that one of the "challenges" w...

Yup, that stand number is definitely correct. Maybe she has last year’s information - we were in hall 3 last year?Pete Boole wrote: ↑Fri Feb 09, 2024 22:40Is the stand number correct? When I booked a slot for build-up day the lady on the phone told me we were on 3-090

We made the Resto Show News! OK, I wrote an article, and it's up on the show's website here.
If you have any comments or corrections (don't be shy) it's not too late for me to do some more editing.

Where the line is between "well regulated market" and "totalitarian regime" is something that there will always be widely varying views on!

Re: NEC Restoration Show - 22-24 March 2024
A rather pathetic 2A electrical socket can be supplied to our stand for an outstanding £147. If we want a generous 4A that'll cost £217. On this basis, I'm going to say that we do without electricity! We've always managed before. If we need to charge any cordless tools (or iPhones), I've usually man...

Not tried it yet myself! If you do manage to work it out, do share your discoveries...Pete Boole wrote: ↑Wed Feb 07, 2024 15:37The booking system is utterly crap - as unintuitive as I've ever seen. I cannot get past the "add card details" screen, even though I have done this. Got any tips for this process??

Re: NEC Restoration Show 2024 - Discounted Tickets
If you are coming as a visitor (rather than to work the stand), you can apparently save £5 on the (exhorbitant) NEC car parking by booking in advance.
There will be a strictly limited number of car park passes for the club, which will be for those who volunteer to man our stand.

If anyone needs to book a hotel, there's a special exhibitor's link that promises "up to 30% off".

Re: NEC Restoration Show - 22-24 March 2024
OK, I've just got access to the Exhibitor Manual. I'll have a more thorough read-through later, but to answer Pete's query for now: Cars can be delivered either Wednesday 10:00 - 6:00, or Thursday 8:00 - 7:00. I'll be there on Thursday (probably not for quite all those hours!), so probably better to...
