Hi, I am now the proud owner of a 1989 Lotus Excel SE It’s in gold, and after extensive research, I cannot find any images or records of any other Excel SE in this colour. Has any one any idea how many were made in gold. I’ve tried Lotus, but they want £80 just to check.

I have an SE in Champagne Gold, there was an earlier colour which was the colour shown in that image of an A reg.

The £80 is for a certificate of provenance. It'll tell you when the car came off the line and what options it had and any other interesting stuff they may hold about it.
