New Excel Owner, US

Post by gusexcel »

Hey all

Recently picked up an 87 Excel SE LHD.

I am a long time Lotus owner, having previously owned a S2 Seven and M100, and still own a +2[35 years] and an 07 Exige S

Will have many questions no doubt but waiting impatiently for a workshop manual so I can begin to discuss things intelligently

Hi Gus, congrats on owning now one of the best Lotus cars.
This Forum is very friendly, ask what you like.
May I ask what country of first registration is your LHD Excel?

Dave the cog.

The car is silver, it came out of Belgium but may have started out in Germany

Interestingly the paint code is Calypso Red but I cannot see any sign that it was ever red

Gus,
First, Welcome!!!
More importantly (to me) Where in the U.S. are you? I'm currently, in Columbus, GA, but moving to Jax, FL next summer.
We are a rare breed here in the U.S. I can't account for more than 7 or so if that and can't attest they're all running.
Enjoy driving the unicorn, everyone will look and ask you 'what's that?'. My RHD makes it all the more fun since I pull up next to drivers on 2 lane roads and can talk to them side by side.
