I have just bought k252lvg , red Excel SE.
I believe a previous owner was on the forum.
If he /she is it would be helpful if you could let me know the history of the car in your ownership and any faults that need fixed .
Thanks

Welcome to the forum! Don't know who previously owned your car. Did you buy it locally?
Cheers, Phil

No, I’m in Aberdeenshire. I bought this from UK Sports Cars near Canterbury. They still have the car and will fix anything that is necessary , hence the post.

There was a handy little group of us in/near Aberdeen, but one's gone quiet for quite a while, one's moved to Shetland, and I've moved to Northamptonshire, so I don't know if there are still any owners nearby.

Actually I think user Fueltheburn is still somewhere close to Aberdeen...

Suggest a PM to Lotus520 might pay dividends. Reading the post though, he may be frustrated to have missed out.
Also says it's been SORNed for 7 tears, so looks like it's coming out of hibernation. I assume therefore the obvious has all been done, not least new Timing belt and full fluid changes.

Re: K252 LVG
Good morning to all and congratulations DC plug
Great to see the car is going back on the road.
The car was a great original example when I bought her around 20 years ago. The mileage was around 56k when I sold her and the only problem where the door beams needed replacing, I would imagine they have been done.
The only real problem I had with her was fueling issues which turned out to be the pump and an additional inline petrol filter that was installed on the later cars, that apparently wasn’t common knowledge at the time.
Everything else was good
So there is no bad news coming from me.
I found out on this forum that it was a 1990 car that hung around the showroom and was eventually sold in 1992, I see no problem with this as it is still going on today with Evoras ( I have heard of one that was at the showroom for nearly 3years) and the odd Elise.
I noticed the car for sale, but had already bought an Elise Heritage as I had given up trying to find an Excel as original as this one.
Anyway, I would like to wish you all the best with this car, and congratulations on owning what I think, is the best, most usable, owner friendly model they ever made.
Also, stick with this forum, it really is head and shoulders above any of the others and a nicer more helpful bunch of enthusiasts you will mot meet.
All the best to everyone

Andy Graham at Lotus can provide you with build history of your car, which for the baseline statement is quite a nice addition for the history of our cars. Lotus have recently introduced a bigger, higher quality boxed set, but you now need deep pockets and as far as I'm aware, the info you get is the same.

Re: K252 LVG
Thanks lotus520,
Door bars have been done.
Interesting that it’s a 1990 car although not sure yet if there was any changes past that date other than trim etc.
Once I get it here (it’s on its way) I’ll feedback more.
