Re: New comer
Managed to remove Seatbelt brackets and save original bolts
Used a nut splitter as the bracket shattered on first bit of tension.
Glad no one was sat in the back
Paint might be a bit much but I had a lot spare
Next to fit them

Re: New comer
Time delay on fuel light in place. Only does the light, not the floating gauge

Re: New comer
Looks like you have, but... Make sure you seal the bolt hole surrounds with silicon, else you'll find water getting in.

Re: New comer
Original flexipipe brackets are recessed to hold the end of the flexi pipe. My replacements came with 13mm ends and too small. Have a 9/16 thin nut available to screw down and act as a lock off next time. The brackets don't hold up to much spannering
Ooops

Re: New comer
I have these bits on my car , well I have one , the other has disappeared . My car does not have rear seat belts , due to its age . Is this plate an MOT issue for me ?

Re: New comer
If the car left the factory with belts then it wont pass an MOT today. If you have one bracket fitted, I suspect it had belts at some time. I dont know if this was a later option.
The side with no bracket, does it have bolt holes in the body?
Brackets (Stainless steel from Lotusbits £40) easy to fit if you need to retrofit.

Re: New comer
I had not even noticed I had no rear seat belt before today . The compulsory fitting of rear belts came in after my car was made . I suspect it was an optional extra , as the plates are factory fitted . There is no evidence that I can see it ever had rear belts .

Re: New comer
Got one of these today:) Only just though. Forgot to tighten the locking wheel nut after playing with the brakes ( which now lock ), and dashed for last Slot of the day. Son had to rescue me as adapter was still on the garage floor. No lee-way from the issuer to let me off and finish at home.

Hi Jim. Mine is a '85. It's also has the mounting brackets for rear seat belts, but no seat belts fitted. I think they put the brackets on anyway. The holes are through the body, but plugged with grommets.I'm going to fit rear seat belts, so will be replacing the mounts with stainless steel ones.
