Hello my name is Lars
and since last month I own a 1983 Lotus Excel RHD.
I have to confess that I have no idea of what ist like to own a Lotus, because the car was not dream car ( I did not know it).
Although beeing german i am in love with british cars .
I am restoring a 1961 Jaguar Mk2 and there is still a lot of work to be done.
A frind of mine owned the Lotus for 3 unlucky Years, he spend lots of Money, but the car still Looked like rubbish.
The chassis and the Motor are completely refinished but the interior the paint and of course the doors are in need of a lot of work.
My friend tried to sell it, but no one wanted to buy a car in that condition.
I made the failure to help him move the car to another Garage. And I fell in love with it
We made a deal and now I own a Lotus, without knowing anything about it.
But I am working on it.
First I had to clean it and then I did a lot of work with the polisher.
Right now I try to find the Parts for the doors ( still need a right windowframe).
But the car runs great!
Best regards
Lars
ps. I am obviously too dumb to ad a Photo. where is the possibiliti to upload Pictures?
Have mercy with my bad grammar!

Hello and welcome. It's always good to hear from a new owner.
There's a topic on posting pictures.

Door frames are still a bit of an issue.
Good luck with finishing it off.
Cheers J

Welcome to the forum Lars. Yes, we definitely need to see pictures! Your grammar is fine . Good luck with the doors - do you have swear-boxes in Germany?

Thanks for the warm wellcome!
@Pete: No we don´t have confessionals in northern Germany.
But I think as punishment in my next live I will have to drive a Trabant 601
@Stu: I am from northern Germany next to the Netherlands (about 5 hours to Calais) next big City is Osnabrück or Münster.
I have made an entry on the Excel World map. (Kirchmann)
I am working on the Pictures.
