It's time for a show of hands Image
There's only 4 weeks left to book for Motorfest.
Who's interested in going ?

If I knew my car would be working by then, I'd be in. But I don't, so I can't :(

I'm still in. I could try and boost the numbers with Club Lotus folks?
I think you need 5 people to get a Club space with Gemini

Just a Quick reminder about Motorfest 2019.
It's normally a well attended show, think we had about 6 Excels last year.
I could do with a show of hands/ reg numbers.
I'll have to book our space about 20th March.

I'm presuming people's fears over Brexit are the reason for the poor attendance for this years show.

I've written to Theresa May about my concerns and this was the reply:

"The Cabinet has just had a long, detailed and impassioned debate on the attendance of Motorfest 2019 and the Outline Political Declaration on our future relationship with cars shows in general.

This letter is the result of tens of seconds of hard negotiation by UK officials, and many, many meetings... well two, which I and other ministers held with our classic car show attending counterparts.

I firmly believe that this Agreement was the best that could be negotiated, and it was for the Cabinet to decide whether to move on in the talks.

The choices before us were difficult, particularly in relation to the Northern Ireland, because it's a long way to get there; especially Tipperary.

But the collective decision of Cabinet was that the Government should agree that attending Motorfest at Chetwynd Deer Park on Sunday 21st April – is the best advice for Lotus Excel owners

These decisions were not taken lightly - but I believe it is a decision that is firmly in the national interest.

I know that there will be difficult days ahead. This is a decision which will come under intense scrutiny and that is entirely as it should be and entirely understandable.

But the choice was this deal, which enables us to have a fun day out and to build a brighter future for our country.

It is my job as Prime Minister to explain the decisions that the Government has taken and I stand ready to do that beginning tomorrow with a statement in Parliament.

If I may end by just saying this. I believe that what I owe to this country is to take decisions that are in the national interest, and I firmly believe with my head and my heart that this is a decision which is in the best interests of our entire United Kingdom.

Also may I point out that under the previous Labour government, car show attendances were down by over 15% in real terms.

Peace and Love Theresa (the crazy walking through fields of what PM) May".

So there you have it, government approval.

Now Lotus Excel.net needs you. I need to book very soon and with only 2 confirmed attendees it's not looking too hopeful.

Severe lack of interest this year. We'll try again next year.

Shame. Without Big Jim in attendance, dinner with the monster-in-law is a treat.

I received an email telling me that Motorfest 2019 has been cancelled.
That's a shame - I wish it was the tw*ts at International Sports Car & Classic Motorshow (Peterboring Show Ground) instead.

Well, if I was right all the time I'd get to be predictable!
