The Lotus Grand Tourers

I organise a monthly meeting for all varieties of Lotus in the Herts, Essex & Cambs area. Anyone here is welcome to come along.

We try to change the venue every month around the area - as this allows people to travel to the ones most suitable to them - although some of the regulars go to all meetings irrespective of the distance.

In the summer we meet up on Thursday evenings, the rest of the year it's for a Sunday breakfast. We have an interesting range of cars coming along. In the last year we have had

* Esprit S2 - World Championship Esprit
* Turbo Esprit
* Stephens Esprit
* Esprit S4
* Elise
* Exige
* Evora


The next meeting is this Sunday at Essendon Country Club near Welwyn Garden City at around 7-30-8am as it is "still" the summer - breakfasts are normally an hour or so later.

It's 71 miles to Hinckley from welwyn garden. Pop up after breakfast for an in town 800 car free show. Should take the esprits about 1 hr 33 mins and 20 secs according to alexa at 43 mph.

The October meeting is at the Elder Street Deli & Café at Debden Barns, Debden Airfield on Sunday 6th October @ 09:30.

The Herts Auto & Aero Club is organising a sprint at the airfield, so come along for breakfast and watch the sprint afterwards.

Well we didn't go to Debden Barns as the weather was not too good and no-one wanted to go.

Met up yesterday at one of out fall back locations in Harlow.


Next month's meet planned to be at the Axe & Compasses, Aythorpe Roding, I'll confirm the date when known (probably 10th or 17th November)

We restarted our monthly meetings in July and had our second one last Sunday.

Lots of wedges, and there was one Excel that parked in the space in the front of shot - but he arrived 1 1/2 hours late.

I keep forgetting about this thread, so don't update it as often as I should.

We have our second monthly meeting this year at North Weald Wings Cafe from 8:30 am tomorrow (16/5). There should be at least two Excel owners there, but I'm going in my Esprit this month, and the other owner's car isn't on the road at the moment

All Lotus 4 Seaters owners (and cars) will be more than welcome.

I've remembered in plenty of time this month.

Sunday June 20th: Breakfast - Wings Cafe @ North Weald airfield from 8:30
Sunday July 11th: A trip to Camberwick Green (Pakenham Windmill) for 12:30

Thursday July 15th or 22nd: Evening pub meet - somewhere between St Albans & Harlow.

I've remembered in time for the next meeting.

This Sunday - Essendon Country Club (AL9 6HN) - 08:30 for a 9:00 breakfast. I'll be in my Excel, and it would be great of other members of this board could make it.
