Anyone going to Donnington?

Post by MickC »

As the title says,

Just wondering if anyone is planning to go to Donnington this year (2006). I couldn't make it last year but went the year before with my Elise.

It would be good if we could get a group of Excels together :D

I'd be up for it. It's about time that we showed showed a bit of collective support for the car/ourselves. I always see groups of esprits. elans and elises turning up to events but never more than a couple of excels together.
If we could decide on a location to meet before the show it would be great to meet some of you fellow sufferers of excellitis! Going by some of the stories we should all be about 4ft tall, 3 long arms, 6 skinny fully rotating fingers on each hand and the abilty to spend long periods of time upside down whilst bent over backwards without losing consciousness!

We'll probably be there ... haven't decided whether to bring the Esprit & not the kids, or the Excel and the kids!

There's even a chance that the Excel will be in the bodyshop for a full respray by then :-)

Planning on being there, depending on date.

Also planning a week in Lanzarote end of March.

The best wold be if the dayes came together I we could get a flight from East Midlands on the Sunday.

Anyone know the Donnington date?

There was a good collection of Excels at the Castle Coombe track day - another date for the diaries!

Looks like there will be a few of us going then :D

Like ian.mac says, perhaps nearer the date we could arrange a meet on route, maybe a motorway services.

I'm going & its definately the Excel not the Elan Sprint - when I took the Gold Leaf down the M1 2 years ago it was the most terrifying ride of my life. I'm sure I could fit under an artic lorry.

Shall we try & reserve an area? I'm happy to contact the organisers & ask. The 'Jelly Mould' M100s always seem to have 2 rows in the Car Park -shall I ask for a row - should do for about 30 cars from memory.

That would be great Andrew.

I would imagine if we can give a definate number of cars (give or take a few), the organisers would set aside a space for us.

Like you said, I saw this a couple of years ago with the Elan owners, all neatly lined up along the back row, looked very impressive.

This looks promising! I'll go with the majority on the Sat/Sun question. Andrew, having a word with the organisers is a good idea. Am starting to feel worried about the state of my car already!
